A Healthy Change

Tina Huang

Nowadays, people are suffering from insomnia much more seriously than before. Many people live under pressures and stresses, which makes them unhealthy. Many people want to find out the useful solution for themselves but always come finally in vain. In the following I would like to mention some ways to improve the problems of insomnia without medicines.

Firstly, most people seek medical treatment in the beginning when they can't sleep easily at night. The doctors usually give them prescription for temporary control of their sleeping condition. The patients tend to lose control and desire more and more pills per day, which is really a serious situation for their health. The medicine can also bring the side-effects to damage their health gradually, such as drug addiction, sleepwalking or amnesia. According to my personal experience, I suggest that you should relax yourself as possible as you can no matter what has happened. Maybe you can have a cup of hot milk before you get to sleep or lie on the bed sometime earlier than the sleeping time. Trying not to depend on medicines would be better.

Secondly, I think that sleeping earlier and waking up in the morning at regular time would be a good thing to try. In this rapid society, many people work over hours or stay up late as night-owls almost every night so that the daily schedule becomes upside down as a vicious circle. That's the reason why I insist on maintaining sleeping quality via keeping enough sleep time. Furthermore, my friends told me that exercising twice a week or doing some casual stretches can improve my bad habits. Probably you can try one of my opinions and figure out which will be suitable for yourself.

For me, I tried the medicine for a while and got insomnia for more than 4 years. I was unconfident toward anyone and anything, even felt insecure in the surroundings. In the beginning, I took some pills before sleep and then I felt nothing at all the next day. Therefore, I was a little bit addicted to drugs, which is definitely terrible. Recently, I found out that I can improve the quality of my sleep by taking everything in an easy mood, smiling more each day, and changing my daily schedule into a regular timetable. Gradually, I broke away from insomnia. Honestly, I still suffer from sleeping problem sometimes but I can always get rid of it after some effort.

To conclude, my comments above are just suggestions that I would like to share with you all. I wish that there are fewer and fewer people suffering from insomnia which is really a troubling problem.
