Eating in the Classroom

      Whether students could eat in the classroom or not is still discussed frequently nowadays. Everyone has his/her own point of view on this issue. Needless to say, when mentioning this issue, there are lots of different opinions about it.

      I consider that students should not eat in the classroom. First, if we eat in the classroom, we might leave a lot of garbage after we eat. This would make the classroom untidy. Second, when we are eating, we might distract other classmates’ attention because of the smell of the food. We should not be so thoughtless and impolite. Third, the most important, we need to respect our teachers. While teachers are teaching in class earnestly, it is very rude and impolite for the students to eat. I think not eating in the classroom is our basic respect for teachers and classmates.

      We may feel uncomfortable when we are hungry. Of course, we may feel even worse if we cannot eat when we are hungry. But we must respect others no matter who they are. Although some people think it is not a big deal to eat in the classroom, I still agree with the rule of not eating in the classroom. Maybe this issue doesn’t have a correct answer and it depends on everybody’s own value!
