The Most Impressive Class Reunion

Jeff Guan

There are a lot of class reunions in my life, but the most impressive reunion was held in my junior high school graduation year. It’s a very gorgeous feast in a famous scenic spot. My classmates dressed very formally. All the boys wore necktie. All the girls wore beautiful dress. The feast was a fascinating buffet in the restaurant. So we had a lot of choices of good food, for example, pasta with some cheese sauce, pork, French fries, beef and pig leg, etc. The buffet was divided into three parts. The first part was Chinese food. The second part was western food, and the third part was desserts. Everyone couldn't hide their greed and cast covetous eyes at delicious dishes. After eating, my friend suggested we could play a fun game. My friend suggested “Dare and Truth” to punish the ones who lost the game. The punishment is very funny and amusing. If one loses the game, one can choose a way of punishing. If one chooses “dare,” one may be asked to do some tricky tasks. Our classmate planned some cruel and tricky tasks. For example, they said “I love you” to the waitress or hugged someone they were not familiar with. I was punished in the game, too. When I lost the game, my friend asked me to eat a strip of noodle with my classmate, Kelly. I was very embarrassed to do that in public, and I think Kelly did not want to do this, either. Kelly’s friend said it was not fair to Kelly. At that time I was a little bit embarrassed. If I chose “Truth,” my friend would ask me some embarrassing question. So I did not choose “dare.” We also had champagne for a toast. We blessed each other “Bonvoyage.” I thought everyone treasured our friendship. After this banquet everyone had their own way to go. On the way home, my friend told me the old Chinese proverb, “There is no banquet without an end.” In the future, I will always tell myself that proverb when I have to leave my friend. This is the most impressive reunion that I have ever had.
