Negative Effects of Pets Abandonment

Even though I never kept any pet before, I clearly know how cute and adorable pets are. Nowadays, more and more people keep pets and regard them as a part of family members. They treat pets well and take care of them just like their children. Yet, there are still poor pets which are cast off by their owners inadvertently or deliberately. Every time I watch these incidents happen on television, I feel so sad and unhappy. If we abandon pets easily, we create negative effect on not only pets, but also environment and society.

Every creature has the survival right and we should never trample its life. Like humans, animals need food, water, companion and love. Also, they do not want to experience hunger and illness. We cannot throw them away just because we do not need or want them anymore; this kind of behavior is really ridiculous and irresponsible. Imagine if we humans were pets, kept by other creatures with bad treatment or were maliciously abandoned, how would we feel? Hence, we should respect animals just like we respect ourselves and not abandon them rashly.

Dirtiness and mess turn into part of the environment when more pets are homeless and abandoned. A lot of abandoned pets pollute the environment by pooping at public places where they should not and by spreading germs to us. This is because they do not have someone to take care of them and do not receive proper checkups. Hence, only when these pets have sound treatment, can the environment change into a more pleasant place for both humans and animals.

The society also pays high social cost to deal with these abandoned animals every year. The world itself is the hotbed of abandoned animals in some aspects, especially such actions as improper ways of animal protection and irresponsible behavior. If we want to stop more animals from meeting their deaths in cruelty, everybody should understand how serious the problem of pet abandonment is.

We are responsible for pets' life once we own them. They really play an important role in every nice owner's lives. They trust us, stay by our sides for years and fulfill our lives; the time spent with them is never wasted. So, we have no reasons to put them away. Briefly, the world will usher in a better tomorrow once we change our mistaken attitude and treat our pets with all our heart.
