      I am so happy that I was born in this period. The first reason is freedom. My parents always say that their childhood was not as free as the present. The second reason is technology. Technology today is fantastic. Scientists have fulfilled many dreams of people. Every thing is becoming possible. The third reason is medical development. Human beings have found cures to most diseases. That’s why we can live so long. The benefits people created make the world wonderful.

      Recalling the past events, we know there are many people who fought for freedom. And freedom is essential to our life. It is why we are willing to fight for it. In this free period, people can wear what they want to wear. Boys wear low waist pants. Girls wear hot pants. We can also have cool hair style as we like. If we have any dissatisfying policy from the government, we can raise our suggestions to them, and do not have to fear penalty by them. Some people don't like the person whom they married to. Of course they can divorce the person and marry someone else. It was impossible to do many of the things I mentioned in our grandparents’ or parents’ period. People were more conservative, and the domination of government was prevalent in that period.

      Speaking of technology, the most popular products must be computers and cell phones. The computer is much smaller, and its operation speed is much faster than before. Because of the development of high technology, we can enjoy the computer that is multifunctional and convenient. The cell phone is much lighter than before. It can also connect to the Internet everywhere. We can find that everyone owns at least one cell phone. For food, we have the microwave now, and we can heat up food in just a few seconds. After dinner, we don’t have to wash the dishes by our hands. There is the dish-washing machine helping us do the drudgery. It can wash all of the dishes we used. We all need to thank scientists for inventing these convenient appliances.

      The last reason is medical development. In this period, people are able to live a long life. Many people live for eighty or ninety years even over one hundred years. And most diseases can be cured. What is more, the medical development is not only for curing diseases, but also for improving people’s looks. Doctors have the skill to smooth out the aging skin, if someone would like to make the skin look much younger. No one can deny that medicament saves many people’s life and brings happiness for us. Because of advanced medical development, we can enjoy being with our descendants, including grandchildren and great grandchildren, when we are old.

      To conclude, the world today is wonderful. We have everything we want. Freedom makes us enjoy liberal lifestyle and thinking. Technology makes the world brilliant. Medicine makes people alive. Because the world is full of resources, we can do everything we like. Remember to cherish the Earth and protect the environment. For this, your descendants can enjoy the world, too.
