A Bus Trip to Hualian

A bus trip is an ordinary trip to many people. We can take the bus to many places where we want to go. I also have had many kinds of bus trips in my life. However, there was a very unforgettable bus trip when I was a senior high student. I went to Hualian with my parents. Hualian was a verybeautiful place, but it actually gave me a really scaring memory.

The night before the trip, I was too excited to fall asleep, and I was in a joyful mood to welcome the start of the trip. In the early morning, my family and I went to my father's company to gather with other people, and we got up to the bus and began our trip. The scenery outsides changed from the prosperous city to the countryside. The beautiful views were reflected in our eyes. We saw many trees and mountains. When we were on Suhua Highway, we also saw the sea in front of our eyes. That was really amazing and incredible. The scenery was too beautiful to describe. I couldn't stop taking the pictures, and I also couldn't move my eyes to other places. I thought that was really a marvelous creation by God.

In LuoDong, we went to LuoDong Sports Park and LuoDong Night Market. We rode the bicycle in Lou Dong Sports Park. That was really fun and interesting. I rode the tandem bicycle with my father, and my sister rode with my mother. We rode and appreciated the beautiful views, like the river, and the field. We went to LuoDong Night Market that evening. Although it was not as big as Shihlin Night Market, there were also many delicious foods and desserts. We ate many toothsome and famous foods, like Hualian Mochi and Heart Tapioca. They tasted really great. Although we did not spend too much time in LuoDong Night Market, we still had a wonderful time there.

In the third morning, we went to the most famous place, Hualian Taroko. It was a really beautiful place. The view was wonderful and amazing. The cliff and the river were really spectacular. In our original schedule, we planned to tour the famous scenic spots such as the Tunnel of NineTurns and the Swallow Grotto. However, because of the earthquake the other day, there were many falling rocks, and both scenic spots were closed. Therefore, we just passed through them. But as we were going to leave, the terrible thing happened. There were totally five buses, and my family and I took the second bus. When the buses were moving, we suddenly heard a huge sound. All people on our bus were scared. At that time, we did not know what happened. After a few minutes, my father's phone rang, and someone said, "A big rock fell down. It is fortunate that the rock did not hit on the bus but fell to the ravine. Nevertheless, some small gravel hit the bus, and the window was broken." The broken bus was the one which was just behind us. When we heard this news, we were all shocked any yet thankful. We were really grateful that the big rock did not hit on the bus, and although the small rocks hit on the window, they did not hurt any people.

Hualian is really a wonderful place. I like Hualian's nature and beauty. Nevertheless, because of the incident on the bus trip, I still have some fear about it. I hope that someday I can overcome the fear and visit Hualian again to appreciate its beauty.
