The Music in My PM3 Player

      Listening to music is my hobby. There is a lot of music in my MP3 player. I listen to these songs in different time and occasions. Therefore, I classified these songs into three categories. One is soul music, another is absolute music, and the other is hip hop music. Three different types of music demonstrate dissimilar feelings. Let’s me introduce the distinguishing features to you. 

       When I feel sad I like listening to soul music. It was a popular type of music developed in the late 1950s by black Americans. Ray Charles and James Brown are generally considered the beginners of soul music. I Can’t Stop Loving You and I Got You are two most famous songs from Ray and James. Soul music singers show their feelings by an intense voice. They can sing without background music but still touch others. Usually I will feel better after listening to soul music.

       The second one is absolute music. This kind of music is very useful for alleviating insomnia, just like a lullaby. Mozart’s Turkish March is my favorite. In my experience, I will fall asleep in five minutes with absolute music. Listening to instrument music is very comforting. Because the music does not have lyrics, listeners are free to imagine the feeling and meaning of each piece they are listening. I like the relaxed atmosphere of absolute music. In addition, I prefer piano music to symphony.

      The last type in my MP3 player is hip hop music. It is also called rap music. This type of music is very popular with teens. Hip hop music was formed in 1970s and became popular in New York. It is another culture from black Americans. I like the strong rhythm of hip hop music. Hip hop singers show their emotion by lyrics, and sometimes the lyrics could be very critical. Eminem’s songs are all full of critical messages. And, that is the reason why I like hip hop music. And I cannot help but shake my body when I listen to hip hop songs.

      Listening to music is an interesting activity. I use my MP3 player almost every day. It seems that music has been a part of my life. I enjoy listening to different styles of music. I am an avid music lover. And I really think that music is a common language of the world.
