Before and After Having a Part-time Job

The part-time job is a very important part in students’ life. Most students have a part-time job during their college lives. Take me for example. I have been having a part-time job since I was a freshman. I think the major reason why I want to do a part-time job is money; in addition, after I have a part-time job, I can meet new friends and be familiar with the society before graduating.

First, having a part-time job, I can get more money. With limited resource, it’s hard for me to get desirable amusement. I can only buy really necessary articles like textbooks or pay some daily expense like fuel. Besides, I need to distribute limited pocket money to three meals. The life before I found a part-time job was unpleasant. Thus, I got myself a part-time job. With enough money, I have the ability to buy more things I want. I do not have to worry about having cheap meals. My lives have become more comfortable after I have a part-time job.

Second, I can learn different experiences and attitudes by having a part-time job. Most students’ relationships are simple. Schools have various activities that I can join and I can meet new friends in the clubs; however, the friends who I meet in the clubs are still students. If I have a part-time job, I can meet friends who have worked for a few years. People who have worked in the society have different experiences and perspectives about things so I can learn different attitudes and thinking from them. I can also get more information and knowledge from them.

Third, having a part-time job prepares me for life after graduation. A lot of students are afraid to graduate from schools because they need to confront the society. Finding a job is not an easy mission especially finding a satisfying job. I used to feel confused about my future. Having a part-time job makes me learn more experiences. I will be more confident to face the predicament and can adjust to the society faster than the students who have never had a part-time job during their college lives.

Above all, I think that having a part-time job is good for me, but I may have less time to study. In contrast, some students who do not have a part-time job have more time to do their homework. They also have less pressure. In my opinion, either having a part-time job or not is fine to me. Depending on what I want, I can decide whether I will find a part-time job or not.
