Useful Investment in Universities

College life or university life is a preparation for us to enter the society. We not only acquire knowledge but also gain experiences of socializing in the “pre-society”. Therefore, we should make useful investment while we are in colleges so we can raise our value in the society. Besides, the investments we make can also grab the attention of the employers during a job interview. Making an investment can guide us to obtain better and cozier social life after colleges. In my opinion, we should make investments like taking a minor course or a double major, doing some part-time job and taking more international language tests.

First of all, we are advised to take a minor course or even a double major. We can learn more from different courses and then utilize them when needed. Taking a different course also shows that our capability is greater and makes us more valuable. When we are looking for jobs, many companies would consider hiring us rather than others who only have one skill or specialization. Therefore, we should develop a second specialty which we are interested in or which we think could benefit us.

Second, we should also take some part-time job if we have additional time. We can experience the working style and environment so we will not suffer a lot when we enter the society. In addition, we can learn to communicate with different people no matter what kind of job we are doing. It is a practice for us to deal with our coworkers and clients in the future. When we have gained more working experiences, we have also raised the opportunity we get hired by our dreamed company.

Furthermore, we should take more international language tests as we can to improve ourselves. We need to prepare a lot while taking the international language tests like IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, etc. We will be more proficient after achieving these challenging goals. On the other hand, they are also basic qualifications to get hired by those big companies. We should embrace this challenge and get great improvement while we are still in college.

In conclusion, we will obtain many benefits by improving ourselves with these investments. Great efforts will make us a better person, and our value will be seen by others. Thus, be prepared to confront and beat these challenges.
