Doing Part-time Jobs

      Even though there are some advantages and disadvantages in doing part-time jobs, doing part-time jobs is essential to many college students. In our college period, we always do part-time jobs. Why do we have to do part-time jobs? I think there are some reasons as follows.

      First, we should share responsibility for the family livelihood. As a college student, we have already reached the right time to share responsibility for the family finance. Because we have already grown up, we have to support ourselves. We should show understanding for our parents; we should realize how painstakingly they earn money and cherish the money we earn.

      Second, by doing part-time jobs, we can learn many social experiences. By this chance, we can also learn how to be independent. I think to be independent is very important. By learning to be independent, we can learn how to be responsible for ourselves.

      But there are some disadvantages for doing part-time jobs. First of all, we may be too tired. Also, we may not catch up the progress of the school lessons. The biggest price that we have to pay for doing part-time jobs is energy-consuming. When we study at daytime, we usually do part-time jobs in the evening; especially, we work late at night and then we will have no energy to go to school.

      Doing part-time job is a good way to make money, make friends, and learn many experiences. Although there are some disadvantages of doing part-time jobs, it seems a necessity in the life of college students. To sum up, we should keep balance between the part-time job and studying.
