Moonlight Clan

    Moonlight clan refers to the group of people who always spend all of their money at the end of the month. They are called the name because the Chinese translation of the expression (月光族) means the group of people that have nothing at the end of the month. Three kinds of people are likely to become moonlight clan : the people who don’t set a goal in their life, the people who always get financial help from family, and the people who cannot save money.

  First, people who don’t have a goal cannot save money. By contrast, people who set a goal for themselves usually have a better life. If people don’t set a goal, they always waste money by buying things unnecessary. For example, my friend bought a notebook last month which cost him eighteen thousand. He bought it without a plan and asked me to lend him three thousand because he didn’t have money to live after the crazy consumption. This thing told me to always set a reasonable life goal and saving money would prevent us from being a member of the moonlight clan.

  Second, people who always get financial assistance from their family usually don’t have ability to solve problems, especially the financial problem. This kind of people doesn’t want to go to work and keep asking for money from their family. One of my cousins who just finished military service always asks money from my rich uncle. Once my cousin gets money, he spends it immediately. If my uncle were not that rich, I couldn’t imagine what my cousin’s life would become. 

  Finally, people who cannot save money are likely to become a member of the moonlight clan. I used to put my salary in my desk because I thought to go to ATM was troublesome. However, I just spent all of the money in the end because it was too easy to get the money by opening my desk. After that, saving money is my most important thing every month when I get my salary.

  In conclusion, there are many people in our society who belong to the moonlight clan. People need to learn how to make a plan for their money or save it. I think it is the best way to manage money and everyone can do it. If people do it successfully, they won’t become the member of the moonlight clan.
