Shopping at Stores vs. Shopping Online

Vivian Li

I like to go shopping. Shopping for clothes is one of my interests. I always ask my friend to go shopping with me. If the weather is not so well, I would do the shopping online at home. So we could buy the beautiful clothes no matter whether we can go out or not. But there are many differences between shopping at stores and shopping online.

One of the differences is whether we could bargain with the clerks for prices. If we like the clothes very much and we don’t have enough money, we could bargain with the clerks for the prices when we shop at stores. In contrast, we couldn’t bargain for prices when we do shopping online. The price of the product is fixed.

If we want to buy something, we would like to check if it has any defect or not. But we couldn’t see the product in detail if we do shopping online. We could only see the pictures of the product which the shop provides. On the other hand, we could inspect the product carefully when we do shopping at stores. We could make sure that the quality of the product is good.

Another difference is how much energy we exert during shopping. When we do shopping online, the only thing we have to do is to surf the Internet. For example, we just have to choose the clothes we like, and go to the post office or the convenience store to pay the money. We would receive the goods which we ordered after a couple of days. In contrast, when we do shopping at stores, we usually have to exert lots of energy. We may need to walk for a long time before we find the clothes we like. Nonetheless, we can get what we want in either way.

There are many differences between shopping at stores and shopping online. Both of them have advantages and disadvantages. We can choose the one that is suitable for us for a particular situation. People who are lazy or busy may prefer shopping online instead of shopping at stores. For me, I like to shop at stores because I am picky about clothes.
