Should Student Be Required to Attend Classes?

Although most students think they have rights to decide whether they attend classes or not, I have a different view from them. In my opinion, university students should be required to attend classes. The rationale behind my argument is that by attending class, students can cultivate professional skills in different domains, learn how to get along with others, and enhance their abilities in different aspects.

To begin with, in the school, developing professional skills in different domains is the principal goal. By attending classes, students can learn about not only their major domain but also other domains, because students can have their own choices of the areas which they are interested in. Universities offer abundant useful resources for students to use, so I think students should make good use of them, for possessing professional qualifications in different fields is useful for one’s future job. Students can learn professional skills in school and then apply them in the workplace.

Second, learning how to get along with others is also important.In the school, there are many chances for students to interact with each other. They can learn how to cooperate with others and understand the way of solving the problems which they meet in school. Besides, school is a good place for building social networks. Students can foster good relationships with others, and they will be useful resources for the development of future career. A company is like a team, and it needs everyone’s cooperation to bring it profit.

Finally, enhancing student’s abilities is the most important reason why I think students should be required to attend classes. For the school really does a lot of help to students, no matter for learning professional skills or other aspects, such as obtaining valuable experiences from joining various activities, and all these help students to strengthen their abilities that money can’t buy .Therefore, I think students should make good use of their time and resources in school, because they can gain a lot if they work hard.Most importantly,school is an excellent place for students to prepare what they need after graduation when they enter workplace.

Perhaps some people may consider it unnecessary to require students to attend classes, for they can learn from other places or by themselves.However, students’ being able to cultivate professional competences in different domains, learn how to interact others, and enhance ability in various aspects by attending classes convinces me that university students should attend classes as required.
