Why We Need to Have an Early Class

Esther Yang

As we all know, there is a proverb to describe the importance of morning—“The plan of the day is up to the morning.’’ The meaning of this sentence is that morning hours are the best time of the day to work. Therefore, I disagree with the proposal about delaying beginning classes in the morning and believe that getting up early for having classes has three benefits: developing a good and regular habit, having a healthy lifestyle, and studying more effectively.

Firstly, getting up early is a very important good habit. If we have a class in every morning, we have to get up at a certain time. So, we cannot stay up late in the night and we must sleep early. In my last term, I had one class in every morning from Monday to Friday. I got up at 7:30 am every morning and slept at 11:30 pm every night. So I had a regular rest schedule. And if I was sleepy in the morning, I also had a fixed time to have a nap in the noon. In contrast, I do not have any class in the morning this term and develop a bad rest habit. Sometimes, I always have no energy and feel sleepy all the day, which has kind of affected my daily activities and study.

Secondly, getting up early can let me have a healthy lifestyle. When I get up early, I need to have a breakfast so as to keep an energetic body. And if we do not stay up late and get up early, our body’s organs such as skin and liver will maintain a healthy condition. What’s more, I also can breathe the cleaner air and have a great mood at the beginning of a day to embrace all the work of the day.

Last but not least, getting up early can create a beneficial opportunity to study. If we sleep and waste the morning hours, I think it is a pity. We can use the early time to read or memorize important information because we have more energy and better memory in the morning. In addition, we can also use the morning hours to read newspapers to learn many new things and broaden our horizons. Using the early time to study is more effective than using any other time of a day.

In conclusion, getting up early can influence both our physical and mental health. It is necessary for us to get up early to make the best use of morning time to develop a good habit, keep a healthy lifestyle and study effectively.
