Choosing a Rewarding Occupation

Choosing an occupation is very difficult, especially a rewarding occupation. What is the rewarding job? It has different meaning to different people. Some people think that a rewarding occupation is to earn much money. Some people think that they have to do the meaningful thing to make some contribution to the society. My choice is to be a tour guide to introduce our country and culture to the foreigner.

I want to be a tour guide because I like to travel. When I was little, I wanted to be a flight attendant. However, a flight attendant has to be as tall and pretty as a model. Then, I gave up the dream and changed my career goal to be a tour guide. At first, I thought that being a tour guide is an easy job. All I have to do is traveling and taking care of my members. However, it is not an easy job. There are many things for a tour guide to do.

If we want to be a tour guide, we have to pass the exam first. We have to know many things about the country, for example, history, geography, politics, and religion. The most important thing is taking care of the members. A good tour guide should be responsible and have good ability to deal with everything. We have to lead our members back home safely.

The tour guide is a representative of our country. If foreigners come to Taiwan the first time and they meet a bad tour guide, they may think that Taiwan is not a good country and they do not want to come here again. So, I want to be a good tour guide. I want to show foreigners how beautiful Taiwan is. I would let them know that Taiwan is a wonderful place. If they do not come, it would be their loss.

I think that to be a tour guide is meaningful and rewarding. This job can make me understand much more about our culture and I can introduce our country to the whole world. I hope that I can make my dream come true with effort and hard work.
