Playing the Piano Well

There is a lot of music around us. I really love to listen to the classical music, including Beethoven’s “For Elise,” Mozart’s Opera “The Magic Flute,” Tchaikovsky’s “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” etc. When I listen to this kind of music, I will feel peace and comfortable, especially when I am under a lot of pressure. Because of this reason, I had tried to learn the piano. In the course of learning, I encountered many difficulties. I think if we want to play the piano well, we take at least three ways: seeing, practicing , and persisting.

The first way is seeing. You need to know how to see the music. If you can't read sheet music and the symbols of music, you cannot know how to play the piano. Being able to read sheet music is very important. It is not only a piece of sheet music but also a kind of piano skill. When you know sheet music, the music you play would be more appealing. Building a good foundation is important for many things, and it’s no exception for playing the piano. Regardless of whether you want to become a musician or not, it will be good to play the piano in the future.

After understanding the music, the next thing you have to do is practicing. At first, you have to learn to properly play out a melody. After getting better and better, you begin to demand yourself to play the melody more skillfully. After you are familiar with the skills, you must practice to make progress. You need to play the piano with emotion, which is more difficult since it requires a deeper understanding and interpretation of the music. Then you have to make painstaking effort to practice constantly. And, practice makes perfect. Although the practice is difficult, you will be skilled in piano one day. As long as you practice, your skills will improve, and your pain will pay off.

The last important thing to play the piano well is persisting. I think it is the most crucial in the three elements. If you are not skillful in the melody, you should always practice until you are proficient. But, you goal is not to get a certain achievement. Persisting comes from your deep heart. You commit yourself to practicing it. No matter what problems you encounter, you should face them and persevere with your firm heart. You will succeed if you keep going until the end. However, it is really difficult to have the determination to persist. If you do, I think you will play the piano very well.

Piano is really not easy to play, especially if you want to play well the classical music. You will encounter many difficulties during practicing. It’s important that you follow the three steps which are seeing, practicing and persisting and invest a lot of time on it. As long as you try your best to practice piano, you will get better and better. You get what you put in. One day, you can play the piano smoothly and easily.
