Riding Motorcycles or Driving Cars

Nowadays, a lot of people drive cars or ride motorcycles instead of walking and taking public transportations, and it is common for them to have driver’s licenses. They do not want to spend too much time on the routes to where they are going. Many people need cars and motorcycles when traveling, going shopping, and going to workplaces or even convenience stores. Although they are equally convenient, they have merits or disadvantages in the following three aspects.

The first disadvantage is the problem of parking lots.Because cars are too big to be parked on roads and streets, when people drive cars to any place, the parking locations are hard to find. For example, if driving to theaters for movies, there are few parking lots there. Even though some theaters have parking lots, they are not enough for so many moviegoers. In contrast, if people ride motorcycles, they will have fewer parking problems. Due to the smaller size, parking locations of motorcycles are easy to get. Riders can park them in alleys, on sides of sidewalks, and even between then arrows paces of two cars.

The weather will not only affect our mood, but also decide our transportations on a particular day.Motorcycle riders have plenty of troubles in bad weather. Although they wear araincoatto prevent their clothes from getting wet, their pants, shoes and socks may still get soaked up. In addition, it is dangerous on the way. The bad weather often makes bad sight. After arriving at the destination, they need to use one hand to hold the umbrella and the other to take off the raincoat. However, driving cars is always the better choice on a rainy day. Drivers do not have to wear raincoats and will not get wet during driving. They just need an umbrella when getting out of the car. Moreover, car drivers are safer than motorcycle riders because there are water wipers on cars. With them, the drivers can still have good vision of the road on a rainy day.

The space of transportation is important.When people travel with two and more families or friends, driving cars are more appropriate than riding motorcycles. Cars provide enough space for people and baggage. In addition, on long distance traveling, people can take a nap in cars. On the other hand, motorcycle riders can just carry one person and few backpacks. The one who sits on the backseat cannot rest by taking a nap and has to keep the pose of sitting. Riders will feel inconvenient if there are too many things near their feet during the riding.

Although cars and motorcycles both make our lives more convenient, there are some advantages and disadvantages of them. Fortunately, many people have both cars and motorcycles nowadays. The contrasts of these two transportation means seem to show that cars are better, but according to my experience, there are actually more advantages of motorcycles than of cars, as demonstrated above.
