How to Prepare an Activity

Amber Huang

This semester I will participate in a training activity. I am very expecting this activity because I am an instructor. The subjects of the activity are university students; I am a university student, too. In fact, I have no idea about how to lead them. We are the same age and our thinking is very similar. This is one of the big challenges to me. Another challenge is to prepare the details of this activity. So I have to participate in the meeting about this activity.

First, the leader has to find cadres and instructors to help him or her in this activity. This is very important. If the person in charge can’t find instructors, the activity can’t be held. So that is the most important part for preparing an activity.

Second, the leader also has to decide the date on which we have the meeting. In this part, we will meet cadres regularly. At that time, the leader has to divide art designing into the making of name tags, posters and cards, all of which are hand-made. We instructors can choose one of art designing by ourselves. At the same time, we can think some ideas in we own works. After we finish, we have to show our works to the cadre. The cadre who is responsible for the art designing will oversee our works. Most important, all of the instructors have to think about the topic in this activity. Maybe you will think it’s hard. In fact, it is interesting. We will hear the interesting ideas!

Finally, the leader will have a meeting again and check some equipment and schedule in this activity. The cadres will say some things we have to care. They also say about some skills to lead a team. You will catch the points about leading your subjects of the activity. After the activity is over, the leader will hold the meeting to review the activity. We can say the bad things about this activity and we can mention some methods to improve it. When the review meeting is over, the activity is completed.

Preparing an activity is not only tough but also interesting. I learn many things in preparing the activity, like communication, art designing, control of emotion and so on. That is an unforgettable experience for me!
