Is it good for young kids to learn English?

     Nowadays, English is not only a language, it’s also a basic skill we all need to have. When we were kids, learning a language is easier than when we have grown up. Some reasons show why it is better for young kids to learn English.

     First, kids can learn a language faster than adults. Kids’ brain is more sensitive to sounds; they can know the differences between different tones better than adults. For example, the Japanese young kids can recognize the difference between “L” and “R”, but it is not easy for Japanese adults.

     Accent is an important part of learning English. For adults, to change their native accent is not easy. If a non-native English speaker wants to speak like an English native speaker, he or she must spend a long time practicing the pronunciation. According to some research, to learn English earlier result in better accent.

     English can be used in many ways; it’s not just a language. Leaners can acquire more knowledge through English and talk to others from different countries by learning English. Gradually, learners can understand cultural differences and increase their global perspectives.

     In conclusion, English is a basic skill we all need to have nowadays. We can’t separate our lives from English. The earlier we start to learn English, the more benefits we will get by using English. From the above reasons, I believe it is better for kids to learn English earlier.
