Reasons for Learning Inefficiently as a College Student

I have been a college student for two years and I study in the English department. I have learned a lot of knowledge from my teachers. My teachers are good at teaching. I am proud of being their student. However, although I learned a lot of knowledge from my good teachers, I find that I cannot remember this much knowledge. As soon as I finish the important exams, I forget all the information. Sometimes, when I want to use the knowledge, I must take a lot of time to recall them. Finally, I find three main problems that make me have no enough time to review what I learned in school. They are the reasons why I cannot learn things efficiently.

The first reason is my using the computer after I go home. Because I am not a senior high student, I don’t do my homework every day. When I go home, I just want to do something that can make me feel relaxed. Therefore, I will use the computer until I go to sleep. I will see movies, buy things, play games, and chat with friends on the computer. These things will take me a lot of time. Therefore, I have no enough time to review and preview school books.

The second reason is my going shopping or having entertainments with friends during holidays. On the day when I don’t go to school I will do the part-time job and go shopping with my friends. Therefore, when I go home, I feel very tired and just want to sleep. I cannot read. I always tell myself that I will read the textbooks the next day. However, I seldom really fulfill this goal.

The last reason is joining the school club and being the leader of the school club. Because of being the leader, I have to handle a lot of things. No matter important things or small things, I must finish them by myself. Furthermore, some meetings and activities are held unexpectedly. I have to spend much time doing these things. Therefore, I have no enough time to fulfill my reading plans.

Because of the above three reasons, I cannot fulfill my reading plans perfectly and my learning also becomes inefficient. Therefore, I cannot remember what I learned from the school easily. And I waste time and money. I don’t want this consequence. So I decide to resign my job in the club. I have to write down the reading plans and fulfill them efficiently. Setting a great goal for me to achieve when I graduate from school is also very important. I hope I can improve my learning skills and have a satisfying academic performance in the college.
