Luck or Opportunity?

In this world, we often heard people say, “You are so lucky!” and think why the luck belongs to him or her and not us. In my opinion, both luck and opportunities are created by ourselves. When people are willing to learn and take advantage of any opportunities, they can expand their luck, and create more opportunities for themselves.

I have a friend who is seven years older than me. Over the years, she has gone abroad many times. I asked her why she was so lucky to have many opportunities to go abroad. She told me that when she worked for a real estate company, she found classes to learn English and computer skills. She thought that both computer and English skills are important. She said that she just prepared well in order to take advantage of any opportunities that came to her way. She was just more industrious than others. However, people only saw her successes and thought that she was only lucky. She also told me that she just tried any way to enrich herself and she didn’t come across any luck.

Finally, I realize that a person’s luck and opportunities depend on his or her endeavor. If people work hard to enrich themselves and never give up, they may get more opportunities and then become the lucky one.
