I Dream a Dream

Vicky Chen

Have you ever dreamed a dream? There is no doubt that people dream every day. As we confront different affairs in our daily life, we would dream distinct dreams at night. My dreams can be classified into three types based on the things I dream of: daily life, fiction and falling.

Firstly, I always dream about my daily life. In this kind of dream, I would encounter my families, friends, and even exes. They would stay in the same place for no reasons, and I am a student doing my routines. Being with all my friends and families in one dream seems like being in a big family.

Another type of my dream is fiction. The movie scene would show up in my dream, and I, with the powerful ability, could do any magical skills that I want. In this fictional dream, anything could happen and everything is out of reality.

Another type of dream I dream quite often is my falling into a bottomless hole. When I was under pressure, like the day before having the exams or being forced to make a big decision, I might have this kind of dream. It seems like falling down suddenly without any reasons. I just walk and walk and drop into a black hole all of a sudden, and then I would wake up with shock. Thus, I really hate the falling dream.

Whichever forms of dream—daily life, fiction, or falling, they must be something meaningful to me. Dreams are reflections of our thoughts. We dream what we think of. No matter what we dream at night, it is an unknown world which we are bound to explore in our subconsciousness.
