Want a Part-time Job

Tracy Yeh

I hope I have a part-time job. However, my parents don’t promise me to have one. I become frustrated why my parents do not allow me to get a part-time job. Why can’t I have a part-time job?

I am jealous of some classmates who can learn making pizzas, making ice-creams… They tell me when they work they feel happy. They work not only for killing time but also for earning money. They can even make boyfriends and girlfriends. It’s a pity that I can only stay in the dormitory. I can have a chat with friends for my free time on the Internet.

I hope I can work in the ice-cream store with my co-workers and make many friends to improve my relationship in order to broaden my eyesight. I can also learn how to serve the customers.

On the other hand, my friend, Shirley works in a coffee shop. She has learned how to make a good smelling coffee. Shirley also learned to change herself when having a part-time job. She knew how to smile. Because of smiling, she got the number one waitress in the coffee shop. Shirley told me she cherished her job. At that time she had no money. The boss found and asked her if she wanted to work there so that she could have money to buy things. Hence, because of the boss encouragement, she discovered she had a perfect talent in making coffee. Therefore, I believe Shirley has got success. She told me as long as I try hard nothing is impossible. She supports me to find a job.

I think that’s why I want a part-time job. I know my parents are worried about me. Maybe, I need to share my friends’ stories with them. I should persuade them. I don’t want to waste time in my college life. I want something that can enrich my boring life. Maybe, having a part-time job is a good idea.
