Ways of Making Good Investment in College

For me, a good investment is buying or doing something for the future, and the most important is that the result must be helpful to myself. Normally, we will think that investment is to put money into the stocks. Of course, it is, but we are just college students without savings and relevant knowledge. However, three investing ways are within our ability and what we can do now, including getting knowledge of other aspects, attending various lectures, and taking a part-time job.

The first way is to gain knowledge of other areas. One of the advantages of a college is that there are many fields for us to choose from. Therefore, we can not only learn about our major but also choose other interesting subjects to learn with no additional fee. When learning some skills from other domains, we can also get the relevant licenses together, which will increase the chances of our success when filling out resumes or seeking interviews in the future.

The second way is to attend various lectures. The university offers many campus lectures in different fields and on different topics. In each session, distinguished or authoritative guests are invited to give lectures. Sometimes it is a professor from another college or from our college, or a senior who has graduated from our school. It may also be the boss, manager, employee of a company, or an artist or a musician, a dancer, etc. Sometimes we also have vocational aptitude tests which are to predict what types of jobs we are suitable for in the future. These academic and professional speeches will be useful for us to develop our potentials and interests.

Another good way to invest in ourselves in college is to take a part-time job. Taking a part-time job is an opportunity for us to gain some social experience before entering the workplace. When working, we must face various customers every day. Sometimes we will meet foreign customers, and thus we need to use English to communicate with them. Over time, our oral English will improve and become more fluent, which will help us not only to get great grades on English tests, but also gain some practical experience that is helpful for our future job.

While we may think it is difficult to do investment at first, but in fact, there are plenty of ways to do it. In my opinion, anything helpful to our future is a good investment. The ways I mentioned above are the things that we can do now and that are very helpful for our future. Doing them, we can understand ourselves better and also widen our horizons.
