How to Help Abandoned Pets?

Seeking for food for more than two days, it felt as if it could totally eat a horse. Though it had to walk and walk and walk, it looked forward to finding its feed. Pet abandonment is a serious issue nowadays. People raise pets without careful deliberations, but the truth is: some people are unable to look after their pets. There are three ways to help those numerous abandoned pets: taking unwanted pets to some animal shelters, castrating pets, and raising your own pets rather than buying new ones.

Firstly, it is very important to bring lost or unwanted pets to animal shelters. In Taiwan, there are lots of animas shelters. Thus, we can choose a suitable and nearby one, such as Animal Home, which is one of the famous shelters in Taiwan and it includes many branches in every city. Those shelters are always a safe place to foster lost or stray animals.

Another method is castrating pets. In order to prevent pets from breeding, the only way to exterminate this situation is to castrate them. This seems to be an extreme method, yet there should be some policies to regulate animals by eliminating their breeding ability and preventing them from multiplying. However, we should not do this in an excessive manner.

Lastly, raising your own pets rather than buying new ones is a popular slogan in our society recently. Through these words, we can understand that it is really a simple way to cut down the number of abandoned animals if we take care of them with heart. Taking stray pets home and giving them a good care is totally a happy ending and we do not even have to pay for it.

Although the number of abandoned pets is still increasing, we can still prevent the situation from getting worse by not discarding and mistreating those poor animals. To protect animals should be everyone's duty as they are humans’ great companions.
