The Benefits of Getting up Later

As the saying goes, “Resting is for a further journey.” The meaning of this proverb is that we need to let our mind and body rest, and then we will have enough energy to go further. Therefore, I agree with the proposal of postponing the classes in the morning. I think there are three benefits of beginning morning classes later.

First, students’ getting up later can make them get enough sleep and have a good mood. If schools can begin classes one or two hours later, both students and teachers can sleep more. Sleeping enough not only is good for skincare, but also can restore one’s energy. In addition, people can have more time for their breakfast or leisurely activities during the vacated one or two hours. With sufficient sleep, students can have a good mood for learning because of better physical and mental.

Second, getting up later can increase our learning efficiency. With abundant energy, our focus will be enhanced greatly. People who sleep more will maintain their concentration longer, than lethargic people. If students can focus on their studying longer they can learn more information.

The third benefit of getting up later is reducing the probability of accidents. When students lack sleep and must ride the motorcycle to school, the possibility of accidents is likely to increase. Especially some people who live very far away from the school, and they need to get up even earlier. It is sometimes dangerous for these student riders to go to school early in the morning if they cannot have good rest at night.

In conclusion, it might be good for some people to get up early, but in my opinion, if schools delayed the beginning time, we all could sleep more and concentrate better in our school work. I really agree with this proposal and hope schools can implement it as soon as possible.
