Cyberbullying

Technology develops quickly. Our life becomes more convenient than before. We can talk to people far away without meeting them face to face. But the new crime happens on the Internet. Cyberbully is a common situation that happens everyday.

Take an example from the Internet. The just people from the Internet might not be just for everyone. There are some people from the Internet who call themselves "social justice warriors." If there is something wrong with a person, they would search for information about him or her. I think it is a form of Cyberbullying, just like the movie shown in Taiwan a couple of years ago. In the movie, some people were dissatisfied with the behavior of the host of a website. So they searched for her personal information and started to bother her. She even wanted to commit suicide. Many similar incidents occurred in reality. I don't think it is a positive phenomenon.

Two things always happen when it comes to Cyberbullying . The first step of Cyberbullying is to misinterpret the fact. There are two sides of one thing, and we tend to see only one side. It's important that we realize both sides so that we can know the truth. We have to be wise to realize the fact. The next is to ruin someone’s reputation. They use the wrong facts or lies to trick people and make them support their opinion. To the person they attack, it is a serious injury.

An astonishing event happened last year. A Taiwanese model committed suicide. The reason for her death was that she had been cyberbullyed for a long time. Someone wrote something bad about her and post it online. The model tried to talk to the person but he replied nothing. Her friends also bullied her at work. She couldn’t handle the pressure so she ended her life. This was a true event which happened in our society. And the world lost such a good actress forever.

The Internet isn’t always reliable. We have to find the truth, instead of believing whatever people say online. If we don’t take this seriously, this kind of situation would happen again. We should always follow our principle and have a fair judgement on everything either online or in reality.
