Good Effects of Doing Part-time Jobs

In the college many students do a part time job. There are many good effects to get a part time job. Specifically, we will get some financial independence, learn about good time management, and learn some special experiences.

The first good effect of working part time is if I want something, I can get it by myself. For example, I like to play video games but the game machine and the games are very expensive, so if I have a job, I can buy them with my own money. Or sometimes I may have an entertainment with my friends like going to karaoke, having a great meal and so on. They all need money. We can do anything we like with the money we earn on our own.

Second, we can learn to manage our time well if we have to study and work at the same time. As college students we need to meet the school requirements to graduate. That is, we have to take care of both school and work. I think it’s difficult for everyone. We must have a good time management and use our time to do our school work, extracurricular activities, and our job well.

Another positive effect of doing part-time work is we can learn something we are unable to learn in the school. In the classroom we can only listen, write, read, and talk. But in the workplace, we need to do anything by ourselves. I think we will learn some practical experience from our part-time jobs.We can learn more effectively by applying what we have learned in school to our work. Sometimes we will face the situation we can’t control, but we need to learn how to hold the situation and solve the problem.

Doing a part-time job is not a bad thing, since we can learn some practical experiences and become more independent financially and in solving problems. But we need to know how to use our time well, and do not neglect our school work.
