      Cars are a common transportation means today. When I was a kid, I always paid attention to the cars that parked beside the sidewalk. I was totally attracted by the cars that appeared in front of my eyes. I noticed that there are various car types: vans, off-road cars, convertibles, sports cars, sedans, SUV, and so on, but the most common types in Taiwan are sedans, sports cars and SUV, according to me observation.

      The first type, sedan, has four doors. It can carry at least four or five people. It is also the most popular type that most people drive. The price of domestic sedans is between NT 600000 - 1200000 dollars. It is not expensive so people always drive sedans to commute. Most engines of sedans have four cylinders and four-cylinder engines are easy to maintain. Generally speaking, sedans are suitable for most people and it is a very convenient transportation means.

      The second type is sports cars. Sports cars have only two doors and only two seats because fewer doors make sports cars move faster and have streamlined appearance. There are still some sports cars that have four seats, but the space inside the cars is too narrow, which makes people sitting in them feel uncomfortable. Sports cars are more expensive than sedans. Japanese sports cars are about NT 1000000 - 6000000 dollars. European sports cars are usually over NT 10000000 dollars. Some sports cars like Ferrari have more than 10 cylinders. The consumption of gas is incredibly high. Of course we can drive sports cars to commute, but I think the reason why people want to buy sports cars is that they want to pursue the fast speed or go relaxing by driving a sports car. Even though not many people can afford to buy a sports car, sports cars are still a fantastic transportation means for people looking for excitement and individualistic expression.

      Another common type is SUV. SUV is the abbreviation of sport utility vehicle. From the name, we can understand that SUV has the character of sport. The number of cylinders of SUV is usually 4-6, but the torque design is larger than that of sedans. It means SUV has the ability to conquer the bumpy road. The price of SUV is between that of sedans and sports cars. Domestic SUV costs about NT 800000 - 1200000 dollars. It can carry at least four people even seven people. SUV is suitable for family. Families can go on a trip together during the vacation by driving a SUV. SUV is useful and easy to drive in rough conditions.

      All in all, cars are an important invention. Many families own at least one car. Different kinds of cars have different principal functions. I like SUV. It is convenient for me to drive to the mountain or some scenic resort with my family. Anyway, miscellaneous cars give us much convenience and abundant enjoyment. We can’t deny that cars are not only cars. They are also an essential element in our lives.
