To Find a Job or to Continue Studying after Graduating from University?

I am in my third year in university and I will be graduating next year. There is not much time for me to play around and waste my university life. It is time for me to plan and decide what to do after graduation. And I decided to find a job instead of going to a graduate school. Three reasons for my decision to find a job than go to a graduate school are the financial issue, lack of passion for studying, and my preferred lifestyle.

First of all, working can earn me money while studying in a graduate school will cost a lot. Since my parents have spent a lot for my tuition and fee in university, I am willing to earn money and give them a better lifestyle. As I am studying overseas, my parents have to exchange Malaysia Dollar for Taiwan Dollar, which has a higher exchange rate. And my brother is also studying in Taiwan, so my parents have to afford a large amount of tuition fee. Therefore, I hope I can share the responsibility of finance to support my family members as soon as possible. Or else, my parents will have to afford more for paying my graduate school tuition.

In addition, studying in a graduate school requires much passion for studying. In the graduate school, we need to spend a lot of time finishing our assignments and papers. We have to do much research and make more efforts than studying in a university. On the other hand, we do not have to study anymore when we are working. Though there are some new things for us to learn, we will not have examinations on them. Things we learn from jobs are practical and useful. However, knowledge that we get from the graduate school may not be useful in our careers if our jobs are not related to our studies.

Last, the life of studying in a graduate school is busier than doing a job. For me, I have to do part time jobs while studying. Therefore, I will have less time to rest and enjoy my life. However, I can rest more if I work. I just have to finish my tasks during office hours and make sure everything is settled well. After working hours, I can relax and spend time with my family and friends happily. It is very tiring to study and do a part time job at the same time. Therefore, I am willing to stop this kind of lifestyle.

It is very important for us to decide for our careers. It demands our careful considerations. Nevertheless, we should also base our choice on our interests so that doing things we love becomes the source of happiness. We may meet some hardships either when studying in a graduate school or doing a job. However, it is a process for us to grow up and become more mature.
