A Healthy Change

Sarah Hsu

In this summer vacation, I started to do exercises regularly. Every morning, I woke up early, and ate some fresh food like apples, salad, or one cup of milk. I thought a good eating habit was as important as exercise. To be healthier, I decided to make a schedule which could remind me what the next step I should do to keep myself healthy. There were three parts in my schedule; eating, exercising, and planning.

First, the food that I ate was very important. In the past, I seldom ate breakfast because I often slept all day. Every time when I got up, it's already afternoon. But if I got up early and ate breakfast, I found I had more vigor to study and concentrated easily in the class. Owing to eating breakfast, I was healthier than the past time when I did not eat breakfast. This change let me have more time to study, and get good grades on the morning test.

Second, if people want to live a healthy life, I think sports are the key. In the past, I really hated doing exercises in the physical education class; I always tried to rest, and avoided exercising. I usually got poor grades on physical education examination. My mother told me that if I wanted to be healthier, I should do exercises regularly. After starting to do sports such as swimming and jogging, my body became stronger, and I could do more housework at one time.

The last thing on my agenda was planning. I thought a healthy change could not only transform our body, but also change our mind. Accordingly, I made a plan which could let me realize myself more fully. In the past, I had a bad temper, and could not get along with others. Sometimes I would feel lonely when I couldn't find someone to talk to, but this situation was changed when I tried to find the way which could let me know how to get along with people. I began to change especially my interior, so I have become more optimistic than before.

Finally, I think a healthy change has changed not only my body but also my life. I have become more confident and have had more patience to treat other people. Then with a strong body, I can do many things that I have wanted to do, and have more time to enjoy my leisure. In the end, I think a healthy change has really transformed both my body and mind.
