Deaf Children’s Acquisition of American Sign Language

Abstract

     For deaf children, they cannot study as easy as common children so in this paper, we will introduce deaf children and their learning process. And those learning processes include ASL’s grammar, gesture and the structure of signs. All of them will be introduced clearly in the article. For deaf children, their family background is an important part. Deaf parents will affect their children wholly life to study and learn well or bad. When deaf children are five years old, they begin to go to school. Because they are different with common children, there must have many differences to study as common children. We will mention what the deaf children need in school. In the end, some problems they face will be discussed.
