In modern times, most people have televisions in their houses. Both television broadcast and cable television provide current events, life information and dramas. But there are some differences between them, which cause different effects.

Cable television costs more than television broadcast. If you choose cable television, you have to spend money for an installation fee. It may cost NT1500 dollars. And you have to spend NT 500-600 dollars per month. If you choose television broadcast, you do not need to pay any installation fee or monthly rent.

Cable television provides a greater variety of programs than television broadcast. For example, cable television provides different kinds of movies, music, exercises, variety shows, and commercials, etc. The channels of cable television have surpassed one hundred. But there are only five channels for television broadcast. So you have more choices with cable television than with television broadcast.

Cable television and television broadcast make different impacts on people. Cable television may make people feel disappointed if people miss some programs which they want to see. It may also make people feel troubled because they are hesitant to decide which channels they should see. There’re too many channels so that people can’t make a decision. On the other hand, people who choose television broadcast are seldom in a similarsituation because they only have five choices.

There are some similarities between cable television and television broadcast, but they are different in costs, channel options and influences. No matter you choose television broadcast or cable television, it’s important that you make a good use of it.
