Is Fortune Telling Necessary?

                                                                                    Steve

Fortune telling has always been one of our greatest customs. It has been around since the beginning of mankind. It is a kind of unscientific way to forecast our future. For instance, what will happen or what will we encounter? However, nowadays the number of people who do not believe in fortune telling is rising. I am one of them as well. I believe that life would be better without fortune telling. And here are some reasons to support my idea.

Firstly, fortune telling may cause panic. For example, the fortune-tellers inform you that you would see blood or encounter something terrible someday in the next month. You will then be afraid and terrified the whole time, because usually they just do not give you the specific time. And you will be worried the whole time what might exactly be the reason why you see blood. As the result, you may lose focus while being frightened.

Besides, many fortune-tellers are frauds. We can see them on the news very often. Some of the fortune-tellers are without a fixed residence. They often cheat on the customers and tell them whatever they want to hear and earn quite some money. The next time those customers come back and look for them for refund, they are already gone. They appear in so many different places and it makes it difficult to find them.

Lastly, life is supposed to be full of surprises. What would we be if our lives are absent of surprises? Life is supposed to be expanded by ourselves, not to be told by others. We should not know what god has in store for us in the future. We need something to expect when we go to sleep. What will happen tomorrow? This idea gives us hope when we wake up every morning, and this is the true essence of being alive

In conclusion, fortune telling is absolutely out of my picture. And it should be out of your picture as well if you hear me clearly and fully understand my point. There are many things to look forward to, so we definitely do not need fortune telling to tell what we should do. “Carpe Diem.”
