Adopting a Dog

       All of us should cherish every little life around us. To adopt a pet is not an easy decision. Some people are afraid that adopting pets may bring them a lot of troubles. As far as I am concerned, the expense of the adoption, the reduction of the stray dogs, and saving them from being put into sleep are good reasons to adopt a dog.

     Adopting the dogs instead of purchasing them usually costs less or  even is free of charge. Adopting pets, we do not need to worry about their health. The shelters will regularly examine the pets and vaccinate them accordingly, and they also pay close attention to them to ensure they are in their best health. If we adopt a dog, we do not need to pay for the vaccination, spay surgery and the health guarantee. Thus, it isn’t expensive to adopt a dog.

     Adoption will also help reduce the number of stray dogs on the street. Some people lack the sense of responsibility; they abandoned their pet without any thought. The homeless dogs may be troublesome and dangerous to the general public. These problems might cause some accidents, like car accidents or even some people might attack the stray dogs for fun. The stray dogs do not have the place to live so that they might sleep at the garbage heap or somewhere warm. They are usually hungry and sick. Once we adopt them, we can change the homeless animal’s life.

     Killing pets is not a good solution to the stray dogs problem. Every animal deserves to live and to be placed in homes where they will be cared for. Adoption will save stray dogs from being put to sleep. Although we try to avoid euthanasia for animals, the animal shelter nowadays does not provide enough space to house them. Thus, many of them were put to death mercilessly. Apparently, we still need to strive hard for the stray dogs.

     All of us should disseminate the thought about adopting instead of buying pets. To have a pet to accompany us can not only keep our life more colorful but also make our environment cleaner and safer. Moreover, we can also feel proud about helping an animal in need. Every life is unique and precious. As long as we play the good role as the good owner, we can have an enjoyable life with our lovely pet.
