Internet Classrooms vs. Traditional Classrooms

Have you ever imagined that students learn from the Internet and do not have to go to the school? Nowadays more and more students learn in Internet classrooms and it is convenient for students who live far from schools to learn. Also students can repeat the learning on the Net if they want to review. But students cannot learn how to communicate face-to-face with others. If they do not understand the teaching, they cannot ask the teacher immediately. In my opinion, traditional classrooms are better than Internet classrooms for two reasons.

The first reason is that in traditional classrooms students learn at regular times, which will motivate them to learn. Most students go to class by timetables. If there is no time limit, they are likely to ignore learning. They may think that they always have another time to learn. Day by day, they will discover that they just waste their time. It is humanity. They do not learn voluntarily. Most students learn because they are forced to learn by their teachers.

The second reason is that students can have direct interaction with teachers and other students in the traditional classroom. From direct interaction with others, they try to find the mistakes and solutions. In addition, it is helpful that students have a sense of belonging to their class. And they can learn and discuss with their classmates. Students should learn how to communicate face to face with others because they will experience this situation after graduation.

Some people think that Internet classrooms are better than traditional classrooms because students who learn from the Internet are not restricted by time and space. This is beneficial for reducing rural-urban disparity. With Internet classrooms, students can get the same resources no matter whether they live in the countries or the cities. However, students in the Internet classroom lack direct interaction with real people, which makes them weak in real-life communication. When they chat with others face to face, they may not be able to conduct or express themselves well. As a result, they may not get along well with others and have difficulty in forming relationships in real life.

To sum up, traditional classrooms are better than Internet classrooms due to their increasing students' motivation of learning and interaction with others. But sometimes Internet classrooms are necessary for students, because they can learn a wide range of knowledge without limit. So students should take the advantage of these two types of learning and make the best use of them.
