Luck or Opportunity?

I think that both luck and opportunities are for people who are already prepared. Some people may say why other people are so lucky to get the chances, but I want to say those people who are lucky must have prepared all the time, and when they meet opportunities, they will seize them and do their best.

The following person that I choose as an example is a famous idol. She can be so popular due to her efforts. The person I want to mention is Charice Pempengco. In the beginning, she was just a common girl in the Philippines, but she has a good talent for singing. When she was young, her mother took her to attend many singing competitions. Although she had a good voice, she was not famous until she attended a Korean program. She sang a classic song from Whitney Houston, and the audience was surprised at her voice. This video was put on the YouTube, and many people in different areas saw this video, including the famous talk show hostess Oprah. I don't think that Charice could become a famous singer only because of luck. Before she attended the Korean program, she had already practiced so many times.

When we face failure, we often use bad luck as an excuse. I think the above example reminds us that we should be prepared all the time, and we will never lose any chances we meet if we try our best. I still remember when I was in high school, I attended a speech contest. Before we gave a speech, we should choose a topic. The topic which we should talk about was decided by what we had chosen. I was very nervous, and I hope I could get the topic which I practiced so many times. Fortunately, I got it and won the contest. I trust everyone can get the opportunities if they try their best.

In my opinion, all people have the same chance, and the only thing we can do is just to hold it and never give up. I saw many people complain about their fate, but they do not review themselves. If we want to get the opportunities, we should make more efforts. We usually see other people being lucky, but ignore the efforts they have made. Therefore, if we want to be lucky, we should make more efforts than others.

To sum up, I think we should seize all the chances we meet, and be prepared all the times. I think Oprah wants to tell us that the opportunities are dependent on how hard we prepare for the undertaking we are going to do.
