Dream to Be a Zookeeper

As a huge animal person like me, being a zookeeper is always a dream work for me. I used to imagine if I could work with those amazing animals, how happy I would be! The job of being a zookeeper has always been the job that I want the most since I was a little girl. If I work with animals and see them all day, I might be cheerful and feel little pressure on the job. The salary for this job might be stable as well. Most importantly, I can develop a great sense of responsibility.

In the zoo, we could be cheered by those animals when we feel upset. There are hundreds of animals inside, and each of them has different kinds of lovely features. I once watched a documentary on TV which was about the life of being a zookeeper. The documentary showed that this job is not perfect. For instance, when zookeepers were facing any terrible troubles in their lives, they carried a bad mood with them to work. Normally, people might be in a terrible mood all day, but they may forget the bad thing while they are working because of the lovely animals. Since the animal keepers focus on the animals, they would forget what they are originally worried about. Animals are magical, and according to my experience, they seem to be able to sense if humans are in the mood or not, and thus they would know how to respond to us.

The salary seems stable, though it might not be high. Some people would think that with the same wages they could do something easier. In my opinion, people who love animals could do the job for a long time because they love animals. For those people who always dream to work with animals, the salary would never be the primary concern for them. As long as we remain in our job, our salary would be stable. We can always earn what we deserve by being a zookeeper.

The key to being a good zookeeper is responsibility. Since the zookeeper is taking care of “life,” he or she needs to be serious. The lives are being held in the zookeeper’s hands, so A zookeeper needs to not only finish the basic work but also keep his or her eyes on the animals, in case there are any emergencies. The moment one steps into this area, one cannot give up. Whenever the animals have any problem, the zookeepers have to arrive there soon, no matter it is day or night because the animals are like their children. The pressure will be a bit bigger than other jobs, but this is what a zookeeper needs to learn. He or she could take this pressure and turn it into responsibility. After going through problems, the zookeeper must be quite proud.

Being a zookeeper is a special job that I always want to do. I love animals too much. Animals are so adorable that I am willing to be with them all the time, even work with them. Few people would like to do the job. Honestly, this is not a normal job. Comparing with other jobs, people might think the zookeeper job is not a good option. They would rather sit in the office instead of standing under the sun and taking care of animals. However, this is the job that I am extremely interested in, no matter the working environment, the salary, and the responsibility that I must shoulder. This job is worthwhile for me to do.
