   My Grandparents

Carol Huang

When I was a child, my parents divorced. My father had to work so he was not able to take care of me. He sent me to my grandparents and went back to work promptly. I thought that he would come back and take me home soon. I was wrong that I really trusted my father who promised me the last minute but broke his words soon. I felt so fearful that I could not help crying. The strangest thing was why my grandparents did not shout to me because no one liked a child’s crying sound. I spontaneously stopped and I watched the objects around me. This was my grandparents’ home but I felt unfamiliar with it. My grandmother seriously looked at me and she said:”Now you have to do one thing as soon as possible; Adapt to it or you will feel painful about this life." I saw that my grandparent did not blame me but encouraged me. I made a big decision in my heart; that is, I will never give up everything however suffering the pain is. I have to appreciate my grandparents because they have taught me many things I have never known before.  Because of them, I can do anything that I want to do. No matter how difficult the things are, they always stand behind me. Whenever I meet a challenge, they always give me positive advice. For example, once I played volleyball, I felt down and collide with pointed tacks. My right knee was covered with much blood and had twelve stitches. My grandparents were nervous but they calmed down to grasp my hand, and said: “Take it easy! After you finish one operation, I will take you to eat a bowl of beef noodles.” At that moment, I forgot my pain and I felt amused by my parents. They stood behind the door so I could feel easy about the operation. I just what to say: “Without you, and without me.”
