Missing Classes Frequently

Janice Chen

College life is quite different from that of the senior high school or junior high school. College students come from different places and some of them have to live in the school dorm or rent a house near school.

When they become accustomed to the college life, they’ll try to have some fun to fulfill their college life. Sometimes, college students will sacrifice their study and do whatever they want to do. There are some reasons for students’ missing classes frequently.

Having a part-time job is one of the reasons why students miss classes. Some of them earn money to afford their tuition. Some want to have work experiences before they graduate from school. Still, others want to have enough money to satisfy their shopping desire.

Being addicted to on-line games or the Internet is another reasons why students missing classes. They spend time surfing the Internet and playing on-line games day and night. They concentrate on the auction and buy beautiful clothes or makeup to make themselves more attractive. Some are play games to kill time and purse excitement.

Living in the dorm or rented house is the most serious reason why college students miss the classes. Students stay away from home and become indolent. They would like to sleep rather than go to school. Some of them stay up late and do not have enough sleep, so they’ll wake up in the afternoon and miss classes.

College students have their own thought and their parents have no idea about their participation in the school. Having part-time jobs, being addicted to the Internet and oversleeping are some reasons why students miss their classes. I think it’s good that college students have their own thoughts, but missing classes means missing the opportunity to learn. Students have to learn how to manage their time well when they are in the college.
