The Most Popular Social Networking Website－Facebook

       As the Internet becomes much more widespread, social networking websites increase every year; Facebook is one of them. Facebook is a social networking website which is founded by a student of Harvard in February, 2004. It was originally a website only for students of Harvard. Since Facebook opened up to other people in 2008, its users have been increasing faster than before. Though Facebook is not the only social networking website, it is the most multi-function one. Facebook provides users a platform to chat with friends on the Internet, post their photos to friends, and play online games.

      You can communicate with friends on Facebook in three ways. One is the Wall, a space on every user’s profile page where you can share everything you want to share, and everything you put on the page will be sent to friends’ homepages so that they can see the messages. Second, Pokes is like a notification which attracts someone’s notice and allows sending it back. The last one is Status; users can post their whereabouts and actions to friends on it.

      Uploading albums and photos is also an interesting part. You can post your photos or funny pictures so that your friends can leave messages to comment on them. Also, you can mark the person in the photos so that your friends will know who he/she is.

      The most popular function is the online games, such as Happy Farm, Aquarium, and the Texas Poker. You can play them with not only friends but also every Facebook's user; by playing the games you can make more new friends on the Internet.

      With those interactions between users－chatting with friends, uploading photos, and playing online games－Facebook has become the most popular social networking website, and provide millions of people an alternative for social interaction.
