Three Important Investments in Life

Jacky Yeh

Investment is crucial to one's life. In fact, the key-point to obtain certain things in life often depends on how much you have invested in certain specific things. For me, a good investment is to learn, gain, or experience things that may come in handy when you grow up.

Gaining knowledge is one of the most important investment in life. But instead of typical knowledge you learn at school, it's the special knowledge that schools don't teach that matters. Sure, typical knowledge such as math and language are useful in everyday life, knowledge like culinary and programming are what make a person stand out from the others. Consider that almost every job nowadays requires employees to possess certain knowledge in order to be qualified for it. Learning the knowledge in advance will pay off in the future.

Next comes the investment of "gaining"-- money investment. Let's be real here, about ninety-nine percent of the things you now own is bought using money. Cash and credit cards play an important role in modern society because it is the easiest way to determine one's value.

It is true that university students may not have that much money to spend on bigger investment like stock, saving money a bit at a time is still a good investment that students can take advantage of.

The last kind of investment is "experiencing," which is to have a part-time job. Despite having a part-time job can cause additional stress to the already stressful life as a student, it is definitely worth the investment. Having a part-time job means that you're more experienced in working, which can favor you more ways than you can think of. Employers like to employ experienced people instead of amateurs because they take less time to teach. They also rely on experienced employees for important tasks, which means people who are experienced at their work have a better chance of promotion.

These three investments are important to one's life when growing up because they cover the three most important parts of one's life. No matter if you're looking for a job, looking for a house, or even seeking for what one means a better life, these three investments will eventually help you out even when you're least expected.
