Advancement of the Camera

      Nowadays, we have many kinds of cameras at our disposal. Generally, one is the digital camera, and the other is the film camera. Though they are both used for taking pictures, they have many differences. Digital cameras were developed in the last quarter of the 20th century. Before digital cameras were invented, people had used film cameras for a long time. The digital camera and the film camera are different in the aspect of zooms, mnemonic formats, and display of photos.

      You can use optical zoom or digital zoom so that you can get close enough to a subject without moving physically. These two kinds of cameras are different in the function of zooming. The digital camera may be equipped with an optical zoom lens, both optical and digital zoom lens, or a digital zoom lens only. But the film camera only has the optical zoom which can not zoom in closer than the digital zoom. Though digital cameras can use digital zoom so that cameras can photograph further, the image quality is growing worse as a result.

      Another difference between the digital camera and the film camera is the mnemonic format. The digital camera uses memory cards to memorize images and save photos. If you have enough bytes of memory, you may even store up over ten thousand pictures in your camera. Also, you can keep pictures in your computer, and those pictures will not fade even ten years later. On the contrary, the film camera can only use photographic films to record images. Films are not only expensive but also damageable in some way. Maybe when you find photos which were taken many years ago, they have been decayed by moths.

      The biggest difference between these two kinds of camera is display of photos. With the digital camera, you can view photos on the screen immediately after you take the picture. If you are not satisfied with the photo, you can delete it right away and take another one. In contrast, the film in a film camera must be developed first for you to check whether the photos are successful or not. You will have to wait more time to enjoy your photos.

      Both kinds of cameras can record images, but they are different in zooming, mnemonic formats, and display of photos. Though the digital camera is more convenient than the film camera, many people prefer to use the film camera. Due to the advancement of technology, the camera has become more multi-function and easier to use.
