Taking Public Transportation

People who live in Taipei prefer to take public transportation because it is well established. The reasons for taking buses and the MRT are convenience, saving money, and environment protection.

Taking the MRT and buses is faster and more convenient than driving a car in Taipei city. My father used to drive us to eat out in Taipei on weekends before. But it’s hard to find a parking lot in Taipei area. So we take the public transportation to go out now. We don’t need to worry about traffic jams if we take the MRT instead of driving a car.

We can save money by buying buses or the MRT tickets instead of paying high fuel price. If we have a car, we need to maintain the car, pay the insurance, and defray expensive oil price by spending a lot of money. Therefore, why don’t we take public transportation in the time of economic recession?

Protecting the earth is the most important thing in the modern age. If taking public transportation can substitute for driving a car or riding a motorcycle, the car exhaust and air pollution will decrease greatly. Nowadays, riding a bicycle is also a popular eco-friendly way to go outside.

Finally, people who live in southern Taiwan may need to have cars or motorcycles for going out easily. But in Taipei, driving cars or riding motorcycles is not really convenient. In Taipei, taking public transportation is very convenient everywhere, saving the fuel fee might be the key to be economical, and protecting the earth is every one’s duty.
