My Unique Talent

Amber Huang

My unique talent is dancing. I have learned it since I was nine. I entered dancing class in primary school and continued in junior high and senior high. That’s a very long time. I remember at that time I didn’t understand what dancing meant. I remember we trained our muscles every day to dance ballet, modern dance and Chinese Opera. In junior high, I knew a little about dancing. In the 8th grade, my ballet teacher gave me a chance to stand in the center and only three people were dancing the same movements. In the 9th grade, I danced on the stage with just three people! That’s a good challenge for me. In senior high, I had a solo dance on stage. That gave me pressure for six months. After learning some more about dancing, I finally knew the meaning of it. Dancing can make our life colorful. In the 12th grade, I lost my way; I didn’t know why it was necessary to dance so hard; dancing had no more meaning for me. I think I was tired at that time because I had to dance for seven hours a day. So I decided to change. Luckily, I entered Chinese Culture University and now I have a chance to minor in English and make my life more colorful. Although I don’t dance for long time each day, I still dance with my friends. I didn’t give up my unique talent. I just want to prove that a person who learns dancing is not so stupid. They study, play games, write reports and so on. I want to tell everybody, not to discriminate against a person whose major is dance. I want to tell so many things about my unique talent and other things around me because these things are so relevant to my talent. These are my unique experiences and will always be a part of me.
