The Effects of Staying up Late

Nina Huang

I was a regular student before being a college student. After being a college student, I have much more free time, and I am used to staying up. Because I usually stay up, I have had some problems.

First, staying up must affect my health directly. The good time for sleeping is 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., but I have been in the habit of going to bed very late for a long time. I may become fat more easily due to staying up late because the body metabolizes slowly during that period of time.

Second, staying up may affect my school work. When I stayed up at night, I might not get up early enough the next morning. Then, I could not go to school on time, and I didn’t know what the teachers said. I would miss the class and be failed by the teachers.

Third, staying up can affect my relationship with friends. When I got up, it was too late to go to school. In the past, my friends would call me to get up for school, but I kept on sleeping. It was so terrible, and my friends didn’t want to call me anymore.

Staying up is really not good for us. It not only is bad for our health, but also affects our school work and relationships with friends. Don’t stay up too often; it will become a habit that will bring bad effects to your life.
