Luck or Opportunity

      It is said that luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. I really agree with this statement. I believe that there is no such thing as a free lunch. We have to pay effort if we want to succeed. I had read a book Good Luck, and this book talks about luck and opportunity. I think to be a successful person not only has luck or effort but also pay effort.

      Good Luck says that luck is created by us. We have to create the chance by ourselves. Sometimes maybe the environment where we stay is so bad, but we can try to change the bad environment. We can create the new environment by ourselves. I believe our dream can come true. Dream is the goal of our effort, and everything can be achieved if we do our best. If we prepare enough, luck and opportunity will come to find us.

      I think the most important thing is attitude. There are two kinds of people in the world -- optimistic people and pessimistic people. Pessimistic people always attribute their failure to others' actions or behaviors. For instance, pessimistic people think no one can understand their real ability or no one gives them an opportunity to demonstrate their ability. They never think maybe they do not prepare enough, or there is something wrong with them. Pessimistic people tend to give up on the halfway. They just think they are tired and hopeless. They don't want to try anymore. Due to their negative attitude, of course, they cannot become successful.

      On the contrary, optimistic people understand nothing is difficult to a man who wills. Many people just see the success of a person, and maybe some people even envy their achievement. Many people always say those successful or rich people have a wonderful life, or they are fortunate. People always ignore the fact that the successful people have worked hard to achieve their goals. For example, writers have to devote themselves to writing, and maybe someday they become a famous writer like the author of Harry Potter – J. K. Rowling. Many people just know she is famous, and she earns much money. Actually, she had to raise children on her own and she was poor, but she still continued writing and she did not give up. Finally, she became a success. The successful people know they have to strive hard so that they can achieve their goal.

      In my opinion, success will belong to us if we prepare enough. Of course, sometimes we have good opportunity or good luck. But chance will not wait for people; chance is only for those who are ready. We have to remember that we must persist in our endeavor, and not complain and hesitate. We just do our best all the time, and we will succeed in the end.
