We Should Not Allow Students to Use Cellular Phones in Class

The cellular phones have been quite widespread around the world nowadays and they have been ever renovated to be smart phones and won bewildering popularity. After the arrival of the smart phones, there have been increasingly more problems. For example, when at school, we like to send messages to our classmates or surf the Internet. This is not good for us because we constantly use it even in class. I think teachers should not allow students to use cell phones in class because this influences their attention and performance and deteriorates their eyesight and the interaction with the teachers. In the classroom, we should pay full attention to what the teachers is teaching. Our teacher may want us to answer a question, but if we use cell phones in class, we won’t be able to make a timely response and may be scolded by our teacher. Gradually, we may begin to lose interest in the class, finding the course difficult to learn. This is one of the evil consequences of using cell phones in class instead of listening to and participating in what the teacher is teaching. The second reason that we should not use cell phones in class is that they may hurt our eyesight. We usually use cell phones secretly under the table because we don’t want to be found by the teacher. The poor light will cause short-sightedness. We seem to play hide-and-seek with the teacher in the classroom. The inevitable result is that we cannot use the cell phones pleasantly, nor can we learn from the class. The third reason is that using cell phones in class and being found by the teacher may embarrass ourselves as well as the teacher. We may think that we don’t do anything wrong and not admitting our mistakes, will be mad and argue with the teacher. We may think that the teacher just tries to find an opportunity to blame us on purpose. However, the teacher just wants us to focus on the class and learn something from the class, but using cell phones results in a bad relationship between the teacher and students. It is therefore not wise for us students to use the cell phones in class because this affects us a lot and causes troubling effects. We should use the cell phones only after the class or when in urgent need should ask the teacher’s permission to use them. It is important to remember that to pay attention and learn things in class is our first priority and greatest duty.
