The Advantages of Having a Smart Phone

      In the modern world, smart phones have become a very common thing in everybody’s pockets. And cell phones are not just a machine which is used to give and receive phone calls, they provide me the same services as I can use in my computer, such as the Internet service, emails, MSN and GPS. Besides, I also see so many people use smart phones on the subway, so smart phones have become indispensable in most people’s daily life. I think the reason why smart phones are so popular is that they are multi-function. Smart phones play a very important role in most people’s life, and they actually change my life and offer me a variety of functions when I am using them.

      First of all, I assume that the Internet service is the most practical function of smart phones, because I can log onto the Internet anytime and anywhere. In the past, if I wanted to surf on the Internet, I had to sit in front of computers, but today I can enjoy all the Internet services only with a smart phone. Besides, with the Internet service, I can check my emails anytime, and I think this function is very useful for me, because teachers in the university always connect with students by emails.

      Second, I can chat with my friends by messengers, like Yahoo messenger, MSN, Google talk and Skype. All the messengers I mention above are instant messages. They are totally different from text messages. Due to the Internet service, I do not have to pay another expense for telecommunication service, but if I text my friends, I have to pay for every single message.

      The third is the GPS service. With the GPS service, I don’t have to be afraid of getting lost anymore, because my phone will tell me where I am and it also can lead me to anyplace I am going to. Moreover, if I lose my phone, I can use the GPS service to get my phone back.

      Finally, there are so many games in smart phones and I think that is why it is hard for me to put my phone down once I start using it. And playing the games of smart phones is the best way for me to kill time.

      A smart phone is actually a kind of mini computer, and I think that the term “smart phones” will replace “cell phone” in the future. Smart phones really offer me a lot of functions and services in my everyday life, and I believe that in the future smart phones will give me more choices and make my life even more convenient.
