Taco Lasagna
Taco Lasagna is a delicious fusion of two favorite comfort foods—tacos and lasagna. Layers of seasoned ground beef, creamy cheese, tangy salsa, and crispy tortilla strips come together in a hearty casserole that's perfect for family dinners or potlucks. This recipe combines bold Mexican flavors with the familiar structure of traditional lasagna, making it a crowd-pleaser that’s easy to prepare and even easier to enjoy.
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning mix
1 cup water
12 corn tortillas, cut into strips
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 (16-ounce) container sour cream
1 (16-ounce) jar salsa
1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup chopped green onions
Optional toppings: sliced black olives, diced tomatoes, chopped cilantro
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat.
Stir in taco seasoning and water; simmer for 5 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat.
In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of salsa on the bottom.
Layer tortilla strips evenly over the salsa.
Spread half of the cooked beef mixture over the tortillas.
Dollop half of the sour cream over the beef and spread evenly.
Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the sour cream.
Add half of the black beans and green onions over the cheese.
Repeat the layers: salsa, tortillas, beef, sour cream, cheeses, beans, and green onions.
Finish with a final layer of tortilla strips and the remaining shredded cheese on top.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with optional toppings if desired.
